2017 PQRS Negative Payment Adjustment Notification

PQRS participants are now being notified by letter regarding the 2017 CMS PQRS negative payment adjustment.

The CMS letter indicates that the recipient did not satisfactorily report 2015 PQRS quality measures or satisfactorily participate in a qualified clinical data registry (QCDR). Therefore, all of their 2017 Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) payments will be subject to a 2.0% reduction.

Access 2015 PQRS Feedback Reports and 2015 Annual Quality and Resource Use Reports Now

On September 26, 2016, Medicare released the 2015 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Feedback Reports and 2015 Annual Quality and Resource Use Reports (QRURs).

The 2015 PQRS feedback report contains detailed information about your 2015 PQRS reporting results, and indicates if you will be subject to a negative payment adjustment in 2017.   

The 2015 Annual QRURs show how physician groups and solo practitioners performed on quality and cost measures, relative to national benchmarks.

Influenza Circulating in NH 2016-2017

On September 28, the NH DHHS issued a health alert update regarding influenza circulation for the 2016-2017 season.

Key Points and Recommendations:

  1. Influenza virus has begun circulating in New Hampshire for the 2016-2017 season.
  2. The updated 2016-2017 influenza immunization recommendations can be reviewed here.
  3. Healthcare providers should encourage influenza vaccination for everyone six months of age or older who does not have a medical contraindication.

Resource Guide for Addiction and Mental Health Care Consumers: Answering Questions About Addiction and Mental Health Care Coverage

Arboviral Illness Update: West Nile in Nashua

The NH DHHS issued a health alert update on September 16, regarding the identification of West Nile Virus in Nashua, New Hampshire.

1. The first detection of West Nile Virus (WNV) in New Hampshire for 2016 has occurred in a mosquito batch from Nashua, NH.

2. Healthcare providers should not rely on the presence or absence of positive mosquito or veterinary testing as a criterion for whether or not to test a patient for WNV or EEE. o Healthcare providers should consider mosquito-borne diseases, including WNV and EEE, in patients with compatible clinical syndromes.
