The New Hampshire Professionals’ Health Program (NH PHP), a nonprofit organization, is a confidential resource that assists with identification, intervention, referral and case management of NH physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists and veterinarians who may be at risk for or affected by substance use disorders, behavioral issues, mental health conditions or other problems impacting their health and well-being. In addition, NH PHP provides recovery documentation, education, support and advocacy – from evaluation through treatment and recovery that may allow a professional to maintain licensure while undergoing treatment. For more information, please email: email@example.com.
Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS):
The 2006 Tax Relief and Health Care Act (TRHCA) (P.L. 109-432) required the establishment of a physician quality reporting system, including an incentive payment for eligible professionals who satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services furnished to Medicare beneficiaries during the second half of 2007 (the 2007 reporting period).
CMS named this program the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI). The PQRI was further modified as a result of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA) (Pub. L. 110-275) and the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA) (Pub. L. 110-275). In 2011, the program name was changed to Physician Quality Reporting System (Physician Quality Reporting). For more information, please visit https://www.cms.gov/PQRS/.
NH Medical Society PQRS Toolkit
The PQRSwizard is a fast, convenient, and cost effective online tool to help collect and report quality measure data for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) PQRS incentive payment program. Similar to online tax preparation software, the PQRSwizard helps guide you through a few easy steps to help rapidly collect, validate, report, and submit the results to CMS for payment. The PQRSwizard is powered by the CECity Registry™, a CMS qualified registry for PQRS reporting.

Medical Malpractice Coverage
The New Hampshire Medical Society has been working with Medical Mutual Insurance Company of Maine for twenty years. Their mission revolves around doctors, hospitals and patients - not board rooms, stock prices and investors.
Doing the right thing. In the context of a medical malpractice insurance company, they believe that means writing coverage for all specialties- not just those that promise profitable returns with little risk. It means working with healthcare providers to ensure the best patient care and in so doing, reduce risks in the care environment.
Doing the right thing also means providing personal and comprehensive support to physicians in the often troubling and sometimes devastating, event of a claim. It means providing vigorous defense against non-meritorious claims. Paying for fair settlement and showing compassion to all parties involved when claims are deemed to be justified. And finally, the promise to pay for dividends through premium credits when surpluses warrant it.

Effective May 21, 2014, the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners requires all medical examiners who wish to perform physical examinations for interstate commercial motor vehicle drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical qualification standards.
In response to this new federal requirement, the New Hampshire Medical Society is now a registered NRCME training provider for medical professionals seeking to be listed on the National Registry website. NHMS’s online training course is designed to meet the core curriculum requirements for medical examiners. Upon completing the training, you will be prepared and qualified to take the NRCME certification exam.
NHMS's course is 100% online (conducted at your own pace) with the option to obtain AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Non-member health care professionals may enroll, but NHMS members receive a discounted rate.
Responses from those who have taken the course have been good so far:
