Benefitting Physicians and New Hampshire's Public Health

The NHMS has established two funds for the benefit of physicians and New Hampshire’s public health.  These are the NHMS Benevolence Fund and the John P. Bowler M.D. Memorial Library, a non-profit charitable organization established as an IRS 501 (c)(3) corporation.

NHMS Benevolence Fund:
In order that this Society may be able to render pecuniary aid to members who are needy, sick, disabled or aged, or to needy widows and/or widowers and children of deceased members, a Benevolence Fund was established. The distribution of the fund shall be vested in a committee whose members consist of the Trustees of the Society.

The fund shall be at least $200,000.  The Finance Committee may add to the fund each year any income from the principal of the fund not otherwise expended and may accept contributions from any other source and add such contribution to the principal of the fund.  The income from the fund may be added to the principal, may be expended for the purposes as stated above or may be used for the general needs of the Society.

Applications for distribution of money for purposes provided for above must be made to the NHMS Trustees.  To apply for funds, please contact the NHMS executive vice president, at 603.224.1909.
