The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Healthcare-Associated Infections Program was awarded funds and is working with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) to offer four separate courses to enhance infection control and prevention infrastructure across the continuum of care in NH.

Courses (free to all attendees, provide an APIC membership for a year, and CEUs/contact hours as applicable):

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)101 Training - $1200 value

    • This course is tailored to the outpatient or ambulatory surgery center setting and priority will be given to NH ASCs and may broaden out to other staff that oversee infection prevention in outpatient settings. For example: hospital IPs that also oversee affiliated ASC or outpatient surgery center.  Key course content includes: regulations and other requirements affecting infection prevention and control programs in ASCs; the CMS survey tool; epidemiology of infectious diseases (chain of infection); employee health; surveillance; cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection; and how to implement change in your organization.

    • This could be relevant to outpatient practices (private physician offices that perform procedures, dental /oral surgery, urgent care settings, etc).
